The picture isn't the best but the burger tasted great! |
As I have mentioned before I am homeless (I've been saying with mom for a few months now) and unemployed, so I have been hitting them comfort food hard lately. The mention of burgers hit the comfort food button like a nuclear weapon, boom! Before I knew it I was off to the store for some ground beef, cheese and bacon! I wanted my famous KISS Bacon Cheese burger, didn't need anything fancy, just wanted a straight forward burger. Let me tell you it was unreal, it hit the stop and put me in the comfort zone quick.
The cheeseburger, that iconic strictly American invention of meaty goodness is hard to beat as a comfort food. I Love Them!!! Well this burger last night turned out so good I have to share it with the world, it would be wrong, un-American for me not to share it.
What makes the burger so good is that the meat only has a little salt and pepper which allows the true flavor of the meat to come out, that with just enough onions to add a little sweetness and you have a really great tasting burger!
The KISS (Keep It Super Simple) Bacon Cheese Burger
Yield 4 Burgers
Ingredients
1-1/2 pounds ground beef (80% lean)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon dried minced onions
4 thick slices of American cheese
8 pieces of crisp bacon
Preparation
In a medium size mixing bowl mix the ground beef, salt, and pepper together. Now add 1 tablespoon of dried minced onions and mix into the meat thoroughly. Now cover the bowl with some wrap and chill in refrigerator for 1 hour. Now that the meat has had time to chill, lets make some burgers!
Evenly divided the meat into 4 portions and form into large patties. Heat a large skillet to high heat and cook the burgers to your desired doneness. Place a slice of American cheese on each burger cover the skillet with a lid to allow cheese to melt completely.
Take the burgers out of the skillet when the cheese has melted and place them on a nice bun top each burger with two pieces of bacon and enjoy.
